MEDIA ADVISORY-Opposition to hydro sale still strong: new campaign phase will jolt Liberal MPPs

TORONTO, ONTARIO–(Marketwired – Feb. 5, 2016) – The Keep Hydro Public coalition will unveil the next phase in the campaign to stop the sale of Hydro One on Tuesday, February 9. The campaign supports strong and growing community opposition to the sale. It will focus attention on holding Liberal MPPs to account for their massively unpopular plan to sell control of Hydro One to private investors.

The press conference at Queen’s Park will unveil the look of this new campaign phase. Speakers will include Keep Hydro Public representative Fred Hahn, who is also president of CUPE Ontario, together with Ontario Health Coalition Executive Director Natalie Mehra and TTCriders Executive Director Jessica Bell.

The Keep Hydro Public campaign is supported by more than 20 community, labour, environment, anti-poverty and student organizations. Many partner groups will be represented at the launch and available to media.
