{"id":19457,"date":"2022-08-18T17:31:43","date_gmt":"2022-08-18T21:31:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ontariohealthcoalition.ca\/?p=19457"},"modified":"2022-09-17T17:32:15","modified_gmt":"2022-09-17T21:32:15","slug":"ontario-health-coalition-speaks-out-following-more-talks-of-healthcare-privatization","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ontariohealthcoalition.ca\/index.php\/ontario-health-coalition-speaks-out-following-more-talks-of-healthcare-privatization\/","title":{"rendered":"Ontario Health Coalition speaks out following more talks of healthcare privatization"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(August 17, 2022)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">By: 94.1 myFM News<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With the provincial government keeping the door open to further privatizing healthcare, the Ontario Health Coalition is speaking up.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The group which represents 750,000 citizens and over 500 organizations says their mission statement is to improve the public healthcare system.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Executive director Natalie Mehra said they were taken back by Premier Doug Ford\u2019s throne speech, and health minister Sylvia Jones saying, \u201call options are on the table,\u201d when asked about privatization.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">She says this is a reckless thought, especially during the current crisis.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mehra says they\u2019re gearing up for \u201cthe fight of our lives,\u201d in terms of combating any moves that may be made towards privatization of hospitals and healthcare.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">She demanded full disclosure of the corporations with which the Ford government has been meeting regarding plans to privatize health care, and she called on Ford to reveal a complete list of health care services under threat of privatization.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.stthomastoday.ca\/2022\/08\/17\/58131\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Link to original article<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>(August 17, 2022) By: 94.1 myFM News With the provincial government keeping the door open to further privatizing healthcare, the Ontario Health Coalition is speaking up.
