{"id":29168,"date":"2023-09-13T10:44:19","date_gmt":"2023-09-13T14:44:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ontariohealthcoalition.ca\/?p=29168"},"modified":"2023-12-01T10:45:57","modified_gmt":"2023-12-01T15:45:57","slug":"privatization-of-health-care-services-topic-of-local-forum","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ontariohealthcoalition.ca\/index.php\/privatization-of-health-care-services-topic-of-local-forum\/","title":{"rendered":"Privatization of health-care services topic of local forum"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>(September 12 2023)<\/p>\n<p>By: MidlandToday Staff<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Marty McNamara will speak about changes that &#8216;are already affecting local citizens&#8217; at Thursday meeting taking place in Penetanguishene<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"speechify-first-word-listening-nudge-1\">A meeting this<\/span>\u00a0week in Penetanguishene will draw attention to the privatization of health-care services.<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"speechify-first-word-listening-nudge-root-2\"><\/span><span id=\"speechify-first-word-listening-nudge-2\">Don Copping and<\/span>\u00a0Fran Moreau, who represent north Simcoe with the Ontario Health Coalition, have organized the meeting, which will take place Thursday from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Normandy Room at the Royal Canadian Legion on Poyntz Street.<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"speechify-first-word-listening-nudge-3\">Dr. Marty McNamara<\/span>\u00a0will speak about changes that \u201care already affecting local citizens,\u201d according to a news release.<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"speechify-first-word-listening-nudge-root-4\"><\/span><span id=\"speechify-first-word-listening-nudge-4\">\u201cHe also will<\/span>\u00a0help us understand the potential consequences of continued privatization and the risks to local hospitals and clinics as well as the impact of surcharges that are being charged to patients.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"speechify-first-word-listening-nudge-root-5\"><\/span><span id=\"speechify-first-word-listening-nudge-5\">Attendees will be<\/span>\u00a0able to reserve a seat on a chartered bus to the Sept. 25 rally at Queen\u2019s Park.
