We cannot go through austerity for 10 years and then have a small amount of re-injected monies to fund a few beds, which is a mere 24 in the City of London, when we&#8217;ve lost 2,000 acute care beds over 20 years.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe asked people to come out to this rally today, because we wanted to send a clear message leading into the provincial election,\u201d Ontario Health Coalition Executive Director Natalie Mehra told the rally. \u201cWe must turn the corner on hospital cuts in this province.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While organizers say the rally was non-partisan, three London NDP candidates were the only political figures in attendance. \u00a0\u201cIt\u2019s an election issue because people of London are suffering,\u201d says London West NDP MPP Peggy Sattler.<\/p>\n<p>The Ontario Health Coalition has plans for more rallies around the province in the coming weeks and will continue to push all political parties to re-open services and open more beds.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/london.ctvnews.ca\/rally-held-to-put-the-focus-on-healthcare-for-the-provincial-election-1.3916888\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\">Click here for original article<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>(May 5, 2018) By: CTV London Calling it a crisis in healthcare, protestors lined Commissioners Road in front of the London Health Sciences Centre Victoria Campus on Saturday morning.
