Devastating Hospital Cuts at Brockville General Hospital — Coalition Launches a Petition to Protect Hospital Services
Brockville General Hospital is facing major direct cuts to departments all across the hospital including the intensive care unit, operating room, complex care, palliative care, emergency, stress test clinic, day surgery, diagnostic imaging, medical/surgical, and switchboard, amounting to a loss of 16,000 hours of nursing and direct patient care on top of vital patient support services that are being cut or privatized.
These cuts impact safety and patient care, putting patients at risk of receiving decreasing standards of care in their community.
At a press conference on Tuesday, community leaders and representatives are joining together to discuss the extent of these cuts and their impact on health care privatization, quality of care, and the future of patient care in Brockville. Along with this, a petition to protect local hospital services will be launched as a response to these devastating cuts.
What: Press conference to respond to the recent cuts at Brockville General Hospital and launch a petition to save hospital services.
When: Tuesday, July 28 at 12 p.m.
Where: In front of Brockville City Hall, 1 King Street West
