Arch Long-Term Care DTOC II – Orleans (owned by Arch LTC) has proposed to build 164 new spaces and upgrade 60 existing spaces. The home is intended for francophone residents.
Extendicare Kingston will be adding 42 new spaces in addition to transfer and upgrade 150 eligible spaces (previous allocated). This will result in 192-bed building at a new site located at 700 Gardiners Rd. in Kingston. The consultation for this proposal has closed but no decision has been announced, according to the Ministry of Long-Term Care consultation website.
Extendicare Homes in Ottawa
Extendicare is planning on demolishing five of its homes in Ottawa when their licences expire in 2025. They plan to move any existing residents from these homes into new homes it is building. The four homes it is planning on redeveloping are:
West End Villa – Currently has 240 “C” Class beds set to expire in 2025.
How they did in the pandemic- 5 outbreaks:
- Mar 2-Mar 17: 1 staff
- Aug 30-Nov 25: 89 residents including 18 deaths and 56 staff
- Dec 19-Feb 4: 1 resident and 10 staff

Starwood – Currently has 192 “C” Class beds set to expire in 2025.

Extendicare – Ottawa #2 Extendicare has proposed to upgrade 192 existing spaces in Ottawa. The project is called Extendicare – Ottawa #2. Considering Extendicare Starwood has 192 “C” class beds expiring in 2025, it is reasonable to assume this project is a redevelopment of Extendicare Starwood.
Extendicare Stittsville Ottawa – Extendicare Stittsville has proposed to upgrade 256 existing spaces. In the public consultation it has been stated that the 256 beds will come from other Extendicare homes in Ottawa: 240 from West End Villa, 8 from Starwood and 8 from Medex.
Carlingview Manor Ottawa – (owned by Revera) will build 17 new spaces as well as transfer and upgrade 47 upgraded spaces to add to the previously allocated 256 upgraded spaces in Orléans in the Ottawa area (303 upgraded beds total). This will result in a newly constructed 320-bed home new site located at 850 Champlain St. in Orléans.

- Apr 7-Jun 18: 170 residents including 60 deaths and 90 staff
- Oct 5-Oct 22: 1 staff
- Nov 14-Nov 29: 1 staff

Woodland Villa Long Term Care Long Sault (Owned by Omni Health Care) has proposed to build 17 new spaces and upgrade 111 existing spaces. The licence proposal is for a term of up to 30 years. This proposal was approved.
Heartwood Cornwall (Owned by Revera) has proposed to build 10 new spaces and upgrade 118 existing spaces. The licence proposal is for a term of up to 30 years. The consultation for this proposal has closed, but no decision has been announced.

- Jan 8- Jan 25: 2 staff
Parisien Manor Cornwall – (owned by Southbridge) has proposed transfer 65 existing spaces to a new location adjacent to Parisien Manor. Southbridge has also proposed 95 new spaces, resulting in a new 160-bed home, called Southbridge Cornwall, which is currently under construction. The licence proposal is for a term of up to 30 years and was approved.
New licences in process for Non-Profit Operators
Dundas Manor Nursing Home Winchester – Rural Healthcare Innovations (operating as Dundas Manor a non-profit) has proposed to build 30 new spaces and upgrade 98 existing spaces in a new home on the same street as the current location. The consultation for this proposal is closed.
Maxville Manor has proposed to build 38 new spaces and upgrade 122 existing spaces. A new building would be constructed for these 160 beds.
Perley and Rideau Veterans’ Health Centre Ottawa has proposed to build 156 new spaces in a new building creating a new 240-bed facility.

- Jun 3-Jul 14: 3 residents including 1 death and 8 staff
- Sep 2- Oct 26: 2 residents including 1 death and 9 staff

Providence Manor Kingston has proposed to build 77 new spaces and upgrade 243 existing spaces, resulting in a new 320-bed home at a new location in Kingston. The project is called Providence Manor Redevelopment. The licence proposal is for a term of up to 30 years. This proposal was approved.
Meet 1972 design standards. License Term: 15 years (thus end 2025). There are 24,695 C beds.
