Hospitals Sound the Alarm. Is Ontario Listening?

Hospitals across the province are feeling the crunch. More than 100 are forecasting year-end deficits. Before this year’s provincial budget, the Ontario Hospital Association said the sector was facing a $1.8 billion deficit in working capital. So did the budget move the needle? We get insight from Natalie Mehra, the executive director of the Ontario Health Coalition; and Dr. Atul Kapur, an adjunct professor of emergency medicine at the University of Ottawa and co-chair of communications for the Canadian Association of Emergency Physicians.
