The Ontario Health Coalition (OHC) and the new grassroots Simcoe County Health Coalition are hosting a virtual town hall next week to discuss the threat of health-care privatization, and what that could mean for Simcoe County residents and hospitals.

As the Ontario government ramps up the number and range of surgeries in for-profit clinics, the OHC is launching a provincewide campaign to protect our local public hospitals.

The OHC has been hosting town halls in municipalities across Ontario to discuss what privatization means for local hospitals and how to fight back. Anyone interested in learning more about the OHC campaign to defend public health care is urged to attend the Simcoe County Health Coalition town hall via Zoom on Wednesday, March 8 at 7 p.m.

The OHC is a collective aimed at protecting and improving public health care. Various unions, community groups, student groups, ethnic and cultural organizations, seniors’ groups, patients’ organizations, equality-seeking groups, nurses’ and health professionals’ organizations, and individual concerned citizens comprise the OHC.

The Simcoe County Health Coalition is being formed to advocate for the protection of not-for-profit public health-care services and improved health care in Simcoe County.
