Where’s senior’s physio after hip surgery?

Three years ago when Brenda McDonald had her first surgery to replace her left hip, she moved seamlessly from the hospital to a rehab centre where she received eight sessions of OHIP-funded physiotherapy.

The 72-year-old Mississauga resident says even before she left the hospital, she was given exercises, physio and was assisted with her walking. During her 10 days in rehab, the physio was “intense” — pretty much one 45-minute to an hour physio session a day on different machines, she says.
