ADVISORY: Bill 140: Long-term Care Hearings Imminent – Coalitions Respond Across Ontario

The new act covering nursing homes has passed second reading. Bill 140 has been referred to committee to be sent out to hearing across Ontario. Locations for those communities have not yet been announced. The Bill will have significant impact on all Ontario communities, affecting all nursing homes, charitable homes, and municipal homes. Issues about access and care levels have been prominent in the news on a regular basis for years. This Act is the culmination of many years of government promises to address conditions in the homes.
