OPEN LETTER: Hospital CEO Does Chatham-Kent Community a Disservice

Posted: January 23, 2013

(January 23, 2013) Chatham-Kent Hospital CEO Colin Patey made headlines last week when he advocated for-profit privatization in a speech to the local Kiwanis Club. In his speech, Patey apparently copied almost verbatim the pro-privatization rhetoric being peddled by Jeffrey Simpson (Globe & Mail columnist and author of a new book pushing privatization). Ontario Health Coalition director Natalie Mehra and Ontario Nurses’ Association Linda Haslam-Stroud wrote a letter to the editor, printed in the paper this morning, to counter his statements.
